This past weekend I spent some time in the desert at Coachella. The days were long, tiring and loud. The reason I drove out to the polo field was to sell merch. A great lineup of bands were playing and I was really excited to experience this festival for the first time. Jay-Z, Muse, Gorillaz, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Vampire Weekend and Tiesto were just a few of the artists that I got to enjoy. I picked up on a couple of new bands too which is why im writing this. Go find something new.

...is never time at all. If you are wondering what's going on, so are we. We have been taking this writing process slow and steady because we heard that wins the race. Where there is hair, there is fun. We heard that too. Ten songs deep and another handful to go, so be patient as we are being patient. Tegan and Sara told me "Don't Rush," and I listened.

Once again, it is late at night and i have been sitting in bed looking at my human biology book and listening to music.. nightmare of you. i decided to get on myspace and update some of the songs on our playlist and i scrolled down to look our comments and was surprised but not really. people love to spread the word about what they are doing, like we care! this is graffiti of the internet. Myspace seemed to be doing so well at one point, being the first online community and networking site to really blow up. of course we can't forget about friendster, xanga, and livejournal but myspace has failed in my book. filling up their site with advertisements and many people that have joined spamming and have realized what they can do with the power of the internet. So some of us have moved onto facebook and twitter and even blogger but how long before these get overran by the spammers and by money, its sad. I guess the future is always fixing problems that arise, so these things that annoy me now will hopefully be stopped but even in our physical world, there are laws about graffiti and other stuff like that and people still get away with it. some is good, most sucks.

I just want to say that i was listening to some demos we recorded a couple months ago and i probabaly say it a lot but im really excited for the future and our new album that is currently being written slowly but surely.

P.S.

I have to wake up in 3 hours for that biology class i was talking about.

I was just listening to some of our new tunes we have been writing and others that haven't even been bought up yet and am very excited for the future. 2010 is going to be another great year, full of surprises at every turn and path we come to. Life changing decisions are going to be made every day whether we know it or not. The mind is an extraordinary thing, inside of an extraordinary being. Don't go and get ahead of yourself. Looking back at 2009, so much growth has occurred within this group and it is safe to say we are very excited for whatever comes our way. Music is seen, heard, felt, made, and thought about differently from one person to the next and no matter what, its there doing those things. Try to understand that it is from us to you. As the year comes to an end, we look back on all our accomplishments throughout 2009. It may seem like RDR hasn't been busy for the last few months but WE HAVE and this year was full of highs and lows for us all. The beginning of the year marked my (steven) shoulder injury & surgery, forcing me to watch the band play shows for a few months. March: Mike: first to be 21...in Vegas. Enough said. This summer hosted a small tour with a pitstop in Idaho where Jared attempted a backflip on his ATV. Unfortunately, things went south and Jared ended up with a broken collar bone and chipped rib while the Polaris survived with a shattered anus. And last but not least, Ryan has permanently locked himself inside our studio until he finishes writing our new record, which is hopefully only a couple more months... Not really, but Ryan & myself are also 21 now so we have found new ways to satisfy our boredom.

We can't wait for 2010 with all the breaks and birthdays it will bring. We hope you're all just as excited. Hope everyone is having a good holiday season (we are spread around Mexico, Idaho, & San Jose) and we will see you in twenty-ten...or two thousand & ten.

So I had an eventful weekend full of long beach, cops, broken cars, bruises, the irish flu, and christmas decorations. All in all, it was a weekend to remember. Mike, Ryan & I are coming up on our last week of classes until finals so cheers. I'm glad to admit that the christmas spirit is finally stating to cheer me up, unlike last year where I could hardly find myself not listening to KOST. I feel like school took over for the beginning of December but things are starting to change. Anyways, us guys can't wait to continue working on some more new tunes in the next coming months...we are about 8 deep with another handful to go so we shall see how things turn out in the next 100 days or so. Keep checking back for another rad video [props to mike on the idaho demos.2 vid] hopefully in the next couple weeks. Stay frosty my friends.

RDR Leaves ELS Tour

The last thing that Run Doris Run wants to do is disappoint our fans, but sad to say, it has come down to that. Due to reasons far out of our hands we were forced to leave The Everlasting Sound Tour prematurely. Sometimes bands have to make hard decisions and this was one of those times. I speak for all of us when I say we were more than excited to get on the road and have our first national tour, and more than disappointed when we had to leave.
Those of you who are distant from us and are still waiting for a live show don’t fret. We plan on finishing all aspects of our new album “Vultures” and heading out on the road shortly after.

Although we are now off the tour we still highly encourage you and your friends to go to a show and watch all our new friends play their music. It was a short run but it was enough to listen to all these bands and tell that they are all something special.

Well me and Jared have been very busy at warped tour. We met a lot of cool people and are still going strong selling our Ep's. We just enjoyed two days off and are now ready to get back on the tour. Today we are in Fresno. If you are coming to the show today be sure to say hi, or any other days like Chula Vista or Carson. Here is a picture of the Gorge, probably the coolest venue that the Warped Tour goes to each year.

We are in the midst of booking shows for RDR in our area in March and April. Word on the street is that we might be doing a short tour near the end of April....but you didn't hear it from us!

Well we are starting to have faith that we will finish this record before we get gray hairs. We are working hard and as often as possible in the studio working with Dan Petel and Ian Kirkpatrick recording every sound you will hear on this album. It's taking a lot of soda and tons of Chipotle burritos but we are still going as strong as the day we started. We know there songs won't disappoint and we know that this is going to be our best album yet.
